Aluroll's Matt has Impressive Start to his Boxing Career

Following in the footsteps of Chris “KO” Roberts, our Operations Manager with a mean right hook, we are proud to introduce Matt “The Barbarian” Barber.

Sales team member Matt took part in Ultra White Collar Boxing event in Wrexham on the 24th April, in a fight of three, two minute rounds which ended in a draw for the first time fighter. He had tough competition in the form of an ex-army boxer with a powerful punch.

Matt chose to raise money for Loubob’s Legacy, an umbrella charity for Brain Tumour Research. Loubob’s Legacy was set up in memory of Matt’s friend’s son Louis Kenney, who tragically passed in 2014 aged 13 from complications resulting from a brain tumour.

Matt smashed his £500 target, collecting more than £800 from the evening with donations still coming in. He would like to thank everyone who has donated, including Aluroll partners Somfy, NRG Automation and UK Roller Shutters.

He said: “Louis inspired me to help raise awareness and money for Brain Tumour Research. They need £1 million to fund a research centre in his memory, and I hope my contribution helps them move a little closer to that goal. In a few weeks I’m going to cycle from Leicester to Skegness to raise money, which is a total of 85 miles, and I’m continuing my training so I can take part in another boxing match at the end of the year”.

The fight was part of Ultra White Collar Boxing, which tours the UK offering amateur fighters the chance to learn from the professionals and raise money for charity.
